Toronto Sportsmen's Show Announces New Venue for 2010

The Toronto Sportsmen’s Show (TSS), Canada’s largest outdoor show, today announced it is moving to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre following 63 successful years at Exhibition Place. The 2010 show will run from March 17-21.Founded in 1948, the show has been the forerunner of Canadian consumer shows and is moving in the interest of expanding its audience and ensuring continued growth. After a thorough review and evaluation of the available facilities in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), the Metro Toronto Convention Centre was selected as the venue for futureToronto Sportsmen’s Shows. “We recognize if the show is to continue growing, we needed to move to a location that will accommodate our expanding needs,” said Ray Sriubiskis, Vice President, Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows. “We are confident the move to the Metro TorontoConvention Centre will allow us to further expand future Toronto Sportsmen’s Shows atthis world class facility,” he added.

The venue was selected based on the following criteria:
  • In the past, shows that have moved to the Metro Toronto Convention Centreexperienced a double-digit increase in attendance
  • Ease of access via TTC and Go Transit, a five-minute protected walk from UnionStation
  • Modern facility with increased meeting space for associations and clubs that workwith the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show
  • 1,700 on-site parking spaces, plus 10,000 additional spaces near by
  • More than 12,000 hotel rooms in close proximity
